Getting Started
What is Pinmaps.net?

Pinmaps.net is an online service that lets individuals easily search, save, share, and then quickly access their favorite locations on an interactive map anywhere an internet connection is available.

Once you understand the basics of how the system works it is a breeze to use the service.
The site is divided in two separate sections: 'Public Maps' and 'My Maps'.

Public Maps

The 'Public Maps' can be viewed by anyone who access the site so only add points of interest and do not add a personal address for any reason on this section.

My Maps

The 'My Maps' section is private and can only be viewed by you and the people you share them with. You can use this section as a business or personal address book.

How does it work?

Before you can get the most benefit out of the service is important to understand the definition of the two main entities: Maps and Map Points.
They have a one-to-many relationship: a map can contain many map points.

A map is a large area such as a city, a state, or a country.
A map point is a location on the map such as an address, or a landmark that is physically represented by an icon or marker.

All the controls you need to create, edit, and delete maps and map points are located on the menu bar and on the map itself.
Some of these controls are hidden and visible upon user interaction with the map.

So now that you understand the basics lets get started:
